The pursuit of better health and well-being has always been a great journey to go on. But it is even more so when you are setting a good example of it for others to also follow. In fact, brilliant surgeon, loving father and ABO leader Dr. Mark Mariñas can attest to this with his wellness journey. Here are his experiences in pursuing better health and well-being with Amway and the changes to his life that come along with them:
“I'm a doting father of 5 boisterous kids and a loving husband to an amazing wife. I serve the Lord, my community, and my team, and I strive to live a life worthy of emulating. On the side, I am also a board-certified General Surgeon by profession and currently serving as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery of a large Provincial hospital based in Dipolog City.
As for what it’s like to be a father… Whew! Every day is a new adventure! And as homeschooling parents for 15 years, we both learn so much more about our kids and ourselves every single day. Honestly, there is always doubt if we are doing the right thing, but, with Faith in the Lord and continuous self-education, we believe we are on the right path.
Now, we started out simply as ordinary users of Amway's amazing products. We thought, ‘We are buying these products anyway, so it makes sense if we buy it at discounted rates and enjoy other perks as well, like points and other bonuses.’ Little by little, our belief in the business was strengthened and we started introducing the products and the opportunity to other people as well. We had a paradigm shift upon attending our first seminar, and we saw how big our business can become. We started dreaming big and working with our mentors. We know that this business can really help people live happier, healthier lives.
However, there is another reason why I started working on my health and well-being. I grew up without a father, and I knew how big of an impact having a father you can look up to is to a growing child. I can't be that father if I am sickly or need special attention. I intend to be the best father, husband, son, and brother I can be. And part of that is learning to take care of my personal well-being, physically, mentally, spiritually, and yes, financially.
If I am in optimal health, then I am less of a burden to my family, the community and to the nation as a whole. Most of all, I can enjoy life to the fullest and serve the Lord with no reservation. What is there not to love?
My exposure to Amway, its products, and the opportunity itself is a Godsend. without it, It would be very, very difficult to living a life by design. So many people live lives of quiet desperation, and I was one of them. I asked myself, "is this all there is to life?" After we are born, we get sick, we get better, we work, we get stressed, and we grow older without moving forward in life. And after repeating this countless number of times, we die.
